Welcome To A New Chapter
Crafted Focus Photography was the original dream, but like dreams, sometimes you wake up and when you go back to sleep you don't go back into that same dream, you start a whole new and different vision. That's exactly what Adam Chapin Photography is for me.
There were a myriad of influences that guided me to the realization that a change was needed, from close friends that have been pushing me personally and professionally (you all know who you are, and I thank you...I owe you all beers and hugs) to finally not being afraid to share my own artistic voice which may not be for everyone but I know will suit just the right people for me.
I'm also finally sharing personal work as well that I am doing outside of weddings, though weddings are still my passion, and I am looking forward to growing and showing more of that as well from larger scale projects I have dreamt up to small scale one-offs where I am just experimenting. That alone has been the scariest obstacle for me, but I am ready for it to be out there.
As for my wedding work, my approach is the same but what I am choosing to capture and how I am capturing it has changed a little bit. I'm in love with shadows, heavy shadows, quiet and romantic settings, showing movement, finding new ways to see the same scene and trying a few new ideas at each session or wedding. This doesn't mean that we will be shooting in the dark or that there won't be brighter images to add some contrast, but I won't be shooting light and airy, so if that's what you're looking for then I may not be the right photographer for you.
So aside from the new brand, really only the settings in my cameras from shot to shot are changing. I'm still the same relaxed, bearded, IPA loving and joke cracking guy that I've always been, I just see things a little differently now.
I am really excited about this new adventure and looking forward to meeting all the new couples and individuals that find some of themselves in my work.
