Bohemian Fall Boudoir and Bridal Session | The Gathering | Boone, NC
A few months ago, I was chatting with a fellow Raleigh wedding photographer about bookings and weddings and it came up that I am usually pretty well booked in the fall, but my springs are relatively quiet compared to my friends. Without any hesitation she said: "have you ever noticed that your photos have a very fallish feel to them?"
The little light bulb burst over my head. And my heart swelled.
It's no secret to people who know me that fall and winter are my favorite seasons and always have been. Spring is fine, but too short here in the south and my car being covered in pollen gets old fast. Summer (and I know how unpopular this sentiment will be) is simply the worst. It's hot, humid, buggy (though I do love fireflys) and I can never seem to be comfortable.
So when Brent from The Gathering mentioned he would be putting on this photography get together with the help of Michelle Wright Events in Boone last fall, I was all in. Fall? Mountains? Photos?
You had me at Fall.
Now I recently shared the first day from that weekend, which was a beautiful, rustic, western North Carolina styled wedding day. Day two took a different turn and was centered around an intimate but very classic boudoir and bridal photo session.
While I love being a Raleigh wedding photographer, if you know me you know that the mountains are my true home. So having this set right into the mountains outside of Boone was such a treat and to do so with such a rad group of people made it even better.
For you photography nerds, I shot a bit of digital on my Nikon D750 as well as some film on my Pentax 67ii. As for film I played a bit with some Arista Edu 400 Ultra, Portra 400/800 and one roll of Ektar 100 (which I had to push 3 stops and I am betting you can figure out which one that is...even while muddy I still was pretty happy with it).
Here is a little bit of work I made during our bohemian fall boudoir and bridal session, enjoy!
